BUFFY SUMMERS: Sarah Michelle Gellar
The death of Angel made Buffy escape from Sunnydale, to LA, hoping to gain some peace in her life. That was not to be, however, as she soon was sucked into a portal that placed her decades in the past, in another dimension. Finding a new home in this world where magic is as natural as breathing, the war brings back the need for her to become the Slayer again. Is she ready to take up the mantle?
Why Sarah Michelle Gellar: She is the one actress I can't even imagine replacing. Through seven seasons, thick and thin, she's been our Buffy in our minds and hearts.
REMUS LUPIN: Bradley James / YOUNG REMUS: Barney Clark
Remus Lupin started his seventh year, thinking it would be just like every other, with general mayhem, expeditions and homework. He certainly did not expect to fall in love with a Slayer from another dimension, and have that love returned. Of course, life is not a dance on roses, and when the war comes, he is painfully reminded of this fact. Can Buffy's support help him through the difficulties he must face?
Why Bradley James: After watching him in 'Merlin,' where he plays Arthur, the series, and Bradley, got me hooked. He also comes rather close to how I imagine a Remus Lupin in the age 18-22 might look like, even though his characterisation of Arthur is more of how I imagine James and Sirius to be.
LILY EVANS: Isla Fisher / YOUNG LILY: Ellie Darcey-Alden
Lily Evans had always hated bullies - she had always espescially hated James Potter. But when she entered her seventh year at Hogwarts, she noticed something was happening with the earlier obnoxious thick-headed prat - he was growing up. In James, Lily found a new friend and someone she could trust, and soon, that friendship turned into something else - love. Will it stay strong, even in the face of darkness?
Why Isla Fisher: I love her as an actress (always so funny!) with performances that consistently blow me away. Also, she's a natural red-head, with roots in the UK. She has also said the following quote: "I think women rule the world because they rule men. Manipulating men - that's our job." I can definitly hear Lily saying that, considering she has James wrapped around her little finger... *grin*
JAMES POTTER: Henry Cavill / YOUNG JAMES: Clem Tibber
James Potter was the unspoken leader of the Marauders, and also insanely in love with one Lily Evans, a muggle-born witch who never gave him a second glance. That all changed, when they entered their seventh year. James finally grew up, and Lily began to return his feelings. Destiny waits for no one, and the two became the couple that was always meant to be, even as they find themselves standing against Voldemort.
Why Henry Cavill: Apart from being a total heart-throb, seeing him act in the Tudors convinced me of his acting skills. I have no doubt he would fit the role of James Potter, with all the funny, romantic and fatherly traits a mature(r) version of James would possess. And he's been cast as the new Superman, which definitely speaks for his ability to pull off heroic deeds and possession of leadership qualities.
SIRIUS BLACK: Johnny Depp / YOUNG SIRIUS: Harry Eden
When Sirius Black began his seventh year, nothing turned out the way he expected it to, when Mandy Walker entered his life. The rest, as they say, is history: The heartbreaker everyone thought-would-stay-single-forever fell in love, and for once, Sirius had to be the one chasing after the girl (who proved to be very hard to catch), instead of the other way around. But when the war descends, can he avoid losing himself to doubt?
Why Johnnny Depp: Despite not being British, he's practically the only one I feel could do Sirius Black justice - we've seen him portray all sides of Sirius' personality in various movies, whether that be sarcastic, crazy, selfish, dumb, serious, depressed, etc. Also, he's of Irish descent and can pull off a British accent, that, to me at least, sounds very believable.
PETER PETTIGREW: Sam Troughton / YOUNG PETER: Zac Fox
Peter never felt he fit in with the rest of the popular Marauders, but when seventh year came around, he met Samantha Walker, a (girl)friend to call his very own. However, soon the feeling of not being appreciated grew, and Peter began to drift, away from his friends, and from Samantha. What happens when his need to prove himself slowly turn him towards a road of seductive - but lonely - darkness?
Why Sam Troughton: Though I've only ever seen him play the 'comic relief' (Much in Robin Hood BBC), he's said he'd love to play a villain and is an acclaimed Shakespearean actor, which speaks of his depth. I think he could pull of the complexity of Peter's character, and his fall to the dark side and Voldemort really well.
MANDY WALKER: Keira Knightley
Mandy Walker, responsible prefect and studious Ravenclaw. A year beneath the (in)famous Marauders and Sirius Black, whose antics when it comes to women are well known. She, unlike the rest of Hogwarts' female population is not impressed, nor will she let herself become another notch on his bed-post. However, Sirius's charms are hard to resist... Can the two willful people make it work or will they be forced apart?
Why Keira Knightley: Keira has the acting chops necessary to handle some heavy drama/angst, as well as comedy and the ability to play sassy. She's also beyond beautiful has played against Johnny Depp (my Sirius Black) for real, which is a plus!
SAMANTHA LOWELL: Romola Garai
Samantha Lowell has never had any real friends, despite her being a Hufflepuff, where loyalty and friendship are regarded as the most important trait. Instead, she became the target of bullies and she began to shy away from everyone. However, a meeting with Peter Pettigrew changed everything, and lead Samantha to disover the meaning of friendship. But will her happiness last even when the war takes hold?
Why Romola Garai: Romola Garai is a great actress on the emotional level - I saw her first in Atonement (where she played with Keira Knightley) and was amazed. I can definitely see her play the shy, drawnback Samantha. Also, she's very pretty without her beauty taking the upper-hand, with something almost vulnerable and fragile over her, which fits Samantha's character perfectly.
SEVERUS SNAPE: Richard Armitage/Alan Rickman
What do you desire most in the world, Severus Snape? Lily Evans has always been the only person Severus truly cares about - but will the love he feels for her be enough to turn him away from a life in shadow? Either way, Severus Snape's road is unclear, dipped in betrayal, torture, loss, regret, grief, and masks that hide a broken heart, and a broken man, from the world and from himself.
Why Richard Armitage/Alan Rickman: For a slightly younger Severus Snape, I chose Richard Armitage, whose dark looks and demeanor as the villain Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood BBC fits near perfectly for the role of Snape. As Guy of Gisborne, he is often torn between right and wrong due to his feelings for a woman. Sound familiar? For the older Severus, no one could do a better job than Alan Rickman, whose portrayal is brilliant.
